John Yates

Financial Adviser & Managing Director

John has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services and his specialisms include: pension transfers, investments, long-term care and inheritance tax planning.

Highly qualified, he holds:

  • Financial planning certificate
  • Diploma for financial advisers
  • Certificate in long term care insurance
  • LIBF Level 6 Pension Transfers
  • Mortgage Advice Qualification

Starting off as a home service agent for Liverpool Victoria in 1986 (he was the man who popped to people’s houses every month to collect the premiums for savings and insurance plans), he moved into financial planning after a couple of years.

After building up his experience and qualifications, he set up his own business in 1996 and eventually launched CJP Financial Planning in 2013, to focus on wealth management.

Thanks to his depth of knowledge, John has helped hundreds of clients to work out their financial goals and ambitions, and guided them to achieve as many of them as possible.

As every client has specific requirements, it means he has to cover a wide range of financial matters, which means he is always researching the most suitable solution to their needs.

A Wolverhampton Wanderers season-ticket holder, you’ll find him at Molineux for every home game. Failing that, he’ll be enjoying meals out, going to concerts or walking Freddie, his Staffy/French bull cross.

Having an ongoing relationship with clients, and seeing them regularly, means most now feel more like friends and family. I love helping people realise their goals – especially when they might not think it’s possible.

INHERITANCE TAX PLANNING IS NOT REGULATED BY THE FINANCIAL CONDUCT AUTHORITY.

With a raft of qualifications behind him – a degree and Master’s in Economics, CeMAP, DipFA and Certificate in regulated equity release – Craig has the academic grounding as well as years of professional experience to make him a safe pair of hands.

Having progressed to a director at CJP Financial Planning Ltd, he is firmly focused on helping clients to achieve their goals, whether this is buying a property, achieving investment objectives or retirement goals.

Outside of work, Craig enjoys spending time with his family – his young twins keep him busy – and he relaxes by playing a few rounds of golf or heading to Molineux to watch Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gary Hulme DipFA MLIBF

Financial Adviser

A highly experienced financial adviser, with more than 30 years’ experience in industry, Gary is a Certified Professional in Financial Advice (CPFA) and holds the DipFA (Diploma for Financial Advisers) and is a Member of The London Institute of Banking & Finance (MLIBF).

He is a firm believer in working closely with his clients – individuals, families and small business owners – to understand their goals, needs and aspirations before researching the most appropriate financial products for them.

By navigating the complex financial options for clients, he is a master of explaining the who, what, where, when, how and why. By simplifying the process, he ensures his clients are fully aware of the choices they have so they can make the financial decisions that align with their unique goals and value.

It is important to me that my clients find the financial planning process enjoyable and that I bring clarity and a degree of realism to the process.

Married with two grown-up children, Gary is a keen supporter of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and has twice cycled 100 miles in a single day to raise much-needed funds.
